Apple Automates Sign Language Data Annotation
A new pseudo-annotation pipeline converts signed video and English text into ranked gloss and fingerspelling annotations. Apple developed this system to unlock underutilized datasets like ASL STEM Wiki. It bypasses the prohibitive costs of manual labeling. Researchers can now scale high-quality training data for sign language interpretation models more efficiently.
