Apple Automates Sign Language Data Annotation
A new pseudo-annotation pipeline from Apple converts signed video and English text into ranked annotations for glosses and fingerspelled words. This system targets the high cost of manual labeling in datasets like ASL STEM Wiki. It allows researchers to utilize hundreds of hours of underused video. This accelerates the training of sign language models.
