AI Featured in 55% of African Cybercrime
Artificial intelligence appeared in 55% of cybercrime cases across Africa in 2025, according to Interpol. Financial losses more than doubled from $192 million the previous year. Law enforcement agencies in 36 countries provided the data for the African Cyberthreat Assessment Report 2026. Security practitioners must now prioritize defenses against AI-automated social engineering and fraud.
