Tech Giants Launch Open Agent Plugin Standard
Version 1.0.0 of Agent Plugins introduces a plugin.json manifest file to standardize AI agent extensions. OpenAI, Microsoft, Amazon, Cursor, and Vercel developed the format to support both agent skills and MCP servers. This shared package format removes the need for developers to build custom integrations for every individual agent platform.
