First AI Research Institute Launches at HBCU
Associate professor Siobahn Day Grady launched the Institute for Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Research at North Carolina Central University in January 2025. This marks the first AI research institute at a historically Black college or university. The center addresses the funding and resource gap in higher education to improve AI literacy for graduates.
