Three new parameter sizes—3B, 8B, and 30B—define the Granite 4.2 family. These decoder-only models feature a 128,000-token context window for self-hosting. The 8B and 30B versions utilize agentic reinforcement learning to operate terminals and web searches. This update provides IBM enterprise users more flexible, local options for tool-augmented workflows.
