Apple Researchers Unlock UMAP Internal Graph Data
PageRank and k-core decomposition algorithms now extract deeper insights from UMAP's internal k-nearest-neighbor graph. This approach bypasses the distortions typical of 2D projections by analyzing the original high-dimensional manifold. Apple researchers prove that the internal graph holds more structural truth than the final embedding. Practitioners can now identify representative data points more accurately.
