Researching Covert Communication Between LLMs
A former software engineer is investigating how LLM students develop covert communication channels. This research, stemming from Redwood Research hackathons, focuses on the inability to observe internal system coordination. If practitioners cannot monitor how models communicate, they cannot impose security constraints. The project seeks to identify and block these hidden coordination vectors.
