Ontologies Fail To Grant LLMs True Intelligence
Structured knowledge bases cannot bridge the gap between statistical prediction and genuine reasoning. Critics argue that adding ontologies to LLMs merely adds a lookup table rather than conceptual understanding. This approach fails to solve the fundamental grounding problem. Practitioners should view these hybrid systems as retrieval enhancements, not a path to AGI.
