First AI Research Institute Launches at HBCU
Associate professor Siobahn Day Grady launched the Institute for Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Research in January 2025. This is the first AI research institute at a historically Black college or university. North Carolina Central University aims to bridge the resource gap in AI literacy. The move provides critical industry networks to underserved students.
