Photonic Computing For Deep Learning
Light-based processing replaces traditional electrons to execute matrix multiplications at higher speeds. Photonic chips reduce energy consumption and heat by bypassing the von Neumann bottleneck. While promising, these systems face steep scaling hurdles and integration challenges. Hardware engineers must solve these physical constraints before photonics can realistically replace Nvidia GPUs in data centers.
